"Patti Ann’s is the latest restaurant, following Franklin Becker’s Press Club Grill, now called B&L Diner (opening November 12) to turn into a diner. It is one of several pivots Greg Baxtrom has operated at this storefront’s address in Prospect Heights. In 2021, Baxtrom announced it would be home to a bakery called Evi’s Bäckerei, before renaming it Patti Ann’s, after his mother, where he served retro-Midwestern fare like pigs in a blanket, port wine cheese balls, meatloaf, and mostaccioli (ziti). Baxtrom tells Eater that as a diner, with its all-day breakfast format, the group may consider another rebrand down the line. For now, though, the restaurant will remain Patti Ann’s." - Melissa McCart
