"Opening in Plano on November 24, this popular Dallas taqueria will debut its second DFW outpost at 7800 Windrose Avenue inside the sprawling Legacy Hall food hall. Founded by John Garay with accomplished chef Joel Mendoza, the restaurant has proved seriously popular—regularly attracting lines at its original Harry Hines Boulevard location—and is best known for its juicy birria tacos, stuffed with chile-spiked stewed beef and served with a side of broth (consommé); Mendoza says the birria recipe comes from his grandfather. The menu also features costra tacos, which tuck a crunchy Monterrey Jack cheese crust inside the tortilla alongside proteins like carne asada.
