"After 11 years serving up souvlaki, seafood, and sizzling saganaki, Ballard’s Plaka Estiatorio will permanently close on June 30. The family that runs the restaurant — Nia, Katerina, and Yiannis Tziotis — recently made the announcement on Facebook, expressing gratitude to their customers, adding that they hoped to open up a new chapter “in the near future.” No reason was given for the upcoming closure, and there’s no word yet on what will take over the location. Eater Seattle reached out to Plaka for further details, but did not hear back by press time. Plaka has been a welcome mainstay in a town that lacks a ton of great Greek restaurants.
