"I spotted that Nice 2 Meet U, a Chinese hot pot restaurant with locations in Rowland Heights and San Gabriel, is expanding to 4428 Convoy Street in Kearny Mesa and shares a complex with CoCo Ichibanya, Danang Corner, and Hive. Specializing in chuan chuan hot pot — the Chengdu-style skewered hot pot where food is cooked on skewers in boiling oil or broth — it uses a self-service model where diners select skewers and plates of meat, seafood, and other ingredients as well as small appetizers and sauces from a central bar. Skewers are priced at approximately $0.38 each and range from spicy beef-wrapped enoki mushrooms to lotus root, shrimp, and marinated pork.
