"Run by the Roosevelt Room’s Caer Maiko and Sharon Yeung, this Asian cocktail pop-up is returning this weekend at Central East Austin bar Nickel City in its pop-up area “Cash Only” (so it will be cash-only). It runs Sunday, June 30 from 7 to 11 p.m. and Monday, July 1 starting at 7 p.m. until everything is sold out, and the money raised will help fund the pop-up’s eventual tour of Texas. The menu features mostly $10 cocktails such as the General Tso’s Perfect Manhattan (made with chili oil from Chinese restaurant Wu Chow and a General Tso–spiced vermouth), the Tapioca Express (with boba pearls infused with rose liqueur), and Ramon’s Onsen (hot tom kha broth served with a side of blistered shishito peppers infused with tequila), while Yeung oversees tea eggs and Maiko makes miniature rice balls as $1 snacks; sales from the snacks will benefit the National Queer Asian Pacific Islander Alliance on Sunday and Liberty in North Korea on Monday." - Nadia Chaudhury
