Downtown Staple Nana’s Seafood & Soul Expands to North Charleston - Eater Carolinas

"The original Nana’s Seafood & Soul opened at 176 Line Street in 2010. Mother and son team Carolyn and Kenyatta McNeil create Lowcountry classics with local products in the small storefront restaurant. For $10, patrons can score a giant piece of perfectly-fried whiting, fried cabbage on rice, lima beans, and a sweet piece of cornbread — really, it’s enough for two people. Nana’s Seafood & Soul is a Westside neighborhood staple with fans like rapper Waka Flaka Flame, chef Sean Brock, and New York Times journalist Kim Severson." - Erin Perkins
