"Tucked into a McKinney historic home, The Yard has opened at 107 South Church Street as a project from the team behind Cadillac Pizza Pub and Taverna Rossa Craft Pizza. The cute, quaint space—formerly home to James Madison Pearson, who served as McKinney's mayor in the late 1800s—sits on a one-acre lot that provides plenty of room for outdoor dining. The menu leans into comfort fare like burgers, nachos, and chicken wings served on a backyard patio with outdoor games, ping pong tables, and fire pits. Cocktails include a riff on frosé and the Yard Smash, a mix of Knob Creek bourbon, honey, blackberry, and mint. It's open for lunch and dinner: 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Tuesday–Thursday, 11 a.m. to midnight Friday, 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday." - Amy McCarthy
