"Martin’s Bar-B-Que Joint, known for whole-hog barbecue, brisket burgers, broccoli salad, and plenty of pies, is expanding to a new location on James Island. The restaurant's founder, Pitmaster Pat Martin, started the whole hog operation in Nolensville, TN, in 2006. This new location will be in the former Sermet’s Southernterranean Cuisine-Bar at 1622 Highland Avenue. Pat Martin expressed his admiration for Charleston and his excitement to be part of the community along with his business partner John Haire and Chase Barton for this new venture. The new outpost is expected to open in April." - Erin Perkins
