Malahat Spirits Adding Cocktails to Miramar Tasting Room | Eater San Diego

"I note that Malahat Spirits Co. is the latest local distillery to expand its Miramar tasting room to serve cocktails as well as spirit samples. Opened in 2014 and co-founded by Tom Bleakley, Tony Grillo, and Ken Lee, the distillery's flagship products are rums—including a black tea rum, a ginger rum, and a spiced rum—while it also releases vodka, bourbon, and rye whiskey. A cocktail menu is being developed by consultants that include Trevor Bowles (formerly of Neighborhood and Soda & Swine and affiliated with Consortium Holdings) and award-winning barman Andrew Cordero; the cocktails will showcase every spirit in the product line, are expected to debut by mid‑August, and the tasting room hours will be extended to run Thursday through Sunday." - Candice Woo
