"From the same restaurant group that brought Barcelona Wine Bar to East Passyunk Avenue, Bartaco opened its first Philly-area location in the King of Prussia mall, debuting for dinner on Thursday, March 14. It’s a sit-down, alcohol-serving, “coastal-inspired” spot with an airy beach-house vibe—white-washed wood, hanging plants, communal seating, and a garage door that opens to the patio on nice days. The food is heavy on tacos (notable fillings include tempura cod, tamari-citrus steak, and pork belly with a spicy arbol chile sauce), plus rice bowls that use taco fillings on rice and a “not tacos” section with salads, poke, chicken empanadas, and duck quesadillas. The drink list emphasizes tequilas and mezcals (served neat, in flights, or in cocktails), alongside other spirits, beer, and wine, while nonalcoholic options include aguas frescas like ginger grapefruit and a booze-free nojito. Bartaco started with dinner only but planned to add lunch shortly after opening." - Rachel Vigoda
