"A hidden North Las Vegas destination for slow-smoked barbecue and American comfort food has relocated less than half a mile around the corner and debuted a classic diner menu with a full roster of its smoked meat favorites. SNS Diner, also known as the Southern Nevada Smokehouse, has replaced a former McDonald’s outpost at 3229 Losee Road, close to Cheyenne Avenue, filling 4,400 square feet and featuring an outdoor patio and drive-thru window. Waiting for permission to open its bar and extend its opening hours to 10 p.m., the diner currently serves breakfast until 11 a.m. and its regular menu until 6 p.m. Inside, the space has been completely remodeled, installing branded, wooden table-tops, plus booth seating and a mural by local artist Bracken Hermansen that references the Food Network’s logo, a reminder of the restaurant's 2016 appearance on the cable channel's American Diner Revival TV show. Now much easier to find than its original location, SNS Diner sits across the street from Tacos El Gordo and a Denny’s, and installed a weathered, 1953 Ford pickup truck out front. On the newly expanded menu, chicken and sausage gumbo, a short rib beef sandwich, omelets, pancakes, breakfast burritos, three meat samplers, barbecue specials of turkey, bacon, ham, hotlinks, ribs, pulled pork, and brisket, and a smoked meatball sandwich topped with brisket gravy and Monterey Jack cheese." - Bradley Martin
