"A fast-casual pizza start-up is getting off the ground in Carlsbad, where the eatery will be a tenant at Bressi Ranch’s new Lift development. Del Lusso’s will be open by late summer, says co-owner and chef Walter Wong, a Carlsbad resident who had a successful career in the software industry before developing a scaleable model for the pizzeria with co-founder Steve Seminara. Cooked at 800 degrees in a custom brick oven and ready in a speedy 90 seconds, his Neapolitan-style pizzas will be made with imported Italian wheat flour, buffala mozzarella, and San Marzano tomatoes; styles will range from classic margherita to pizzas made with locally-sourced ingredients like vegetables from North County’s Chino Farms." - Candice Woo
