"The Source by Wolfgang Puck, a modern Asian restaurant that marked the celebrity chef’s entrance into the D.C. dining scene, has closed after 13 years of business. The restaurant was located underneath the Newseum and enjoyed status as a power dining spot that attracted politicians and celebrities. The closure was attributed to a change in landlords and the challenges of operating during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Source was known for leading D.C. out of the steakhouse era and being an early proponent of izakaya and hot pot service. It won local awards for New Restaurant of the Year and Fine Dining Restaurant of the Year." - Gabe Hiatt
