Austin Bakery Churro Co. Opens in North Austin | Eater Austin

"Opened April 5 at 11101 Burnet Road, Suite A140 in North Burnet, this new dessert bakery from Gabriela’s Group (founded by Gabriela and Arturo Bucio) expands a popular churro truck into a vibrant brick-and-mortar next to the group's Taquero Mucho. The space is picture-ready with lots of pinks, neon signage, velvet bars, chairs and booths, a lilac ceiling, and playful pink cartoon wallpaper. The expanded menu features hand-made, grandma-style churros in original and new flavors plus new funnel cakes, and offers coffees, horchatas, milkshakes, floats, matcha, and aguas frescas. The truck — started in 2014 by David Martinez and Leo Mendoza and acquired by Gabriela’s Group in spring 2022 — remains in operation with an updated look at its South First location.
