"A weed-themed sandwich shop, Cheba Hut is planning to open in the Marietta Street Artery within the Theory apartment complex between Boss Street and Bankhead Avenue near the post office on Marietta Street. The Arizona-based chain — whose motto is “Great tasting food. A very specific counterculture” — appears to have this Marietta Street location confirmed (and may have signed a second lease in the Old Fourth Ward) as it eyes additional spots in Midtown, the Westside, and around the Old Fourth Ward. The menu features meat and vegetarian subs such as the Apollo 13 (grilled chicken, garlic butter, Kalamata olives, feta cheese, and spring mix topped with Greek dressing), the Power Plant (guacamole, hummus, and feta cheese), and the 5-0 (smoked ham, salami, prosciutto, pepperoni, bacon, giardiniera, and cheddar); subs come in three sizes — a four-inch “nug,” an eight-inch “pinner,” and a 12-inch “blunt.” A “munchies” category offers loaded nachos, garlic cheese bread, Rice Krispie treats, and brownies, and there's a full bar serving drinks like the Dirty Hippie (vodka and lemonade) and a Brass Monkey (PBR and orange juice). Atlanta franchisees are entertainment lawyer Josh Burdick and Justin Beatty, beverage manager for Lure. chebahut.com." - Beth McKibben
