"Opened in 2019 as a tenant inside James Coffee Co.'s Little Italy warehouse, this locally-beloved food and gift store gained a loyal clientele as a source for specialty pantry items and a launching place for food startups. Having outgrown its India Street outpost, owner Carynn Pinckney relocated to a larger locale on Adams Avenue, where the shop is now cohabitating with a floral design studio. Pinckney says the technicolor shop will have an even greater focus on pantry goods and gourmet items that are produced here or headquartered in San Diego; the local lineup includes Karanchi chili crisps, shrubs from Cool Hand Co., pasta sauce from Remo & Romolo, and Éla! olive oil, which is used by popular pizzerias like Tribute Pizza and Blind Lady Ale House. The Adams Avenue space will continue to serve as a pick-up location for other area businesses like Companion Bread, Relic Bageri, and grains grower Farmer Mai, and Pinckney told Eater that she would like to expand into more items geared towards professional chefs." - Candice Woo
