Washington Avenue’s New Beer-Focused Dive Bar Has Arrived - Eater Houston
"The Pink Elephant Room, a new Washington Avenue dive bar named for drunken hallucinations, has officially opened its doors. The bar aims to be a laid-back neighborhood spot, complete with a jukebox and pool table. The space features saucy neon signs, a ceiling lit up with shimmering stars, and a mural of the bar’s pink elephant mascot. It serves cocktails from the 1952 book A Guide to Pink Elephants, alongside wine and beers. The new 40-foot-long bar was installed in a building dating back to the 1930s, which was formerly a music venue named Mary Jane’s.
