"In La Petite-Patrie I found a pint-sized Irish pub on Bélanger Street that aims to fill a neighbourhood void by focusing on Irish whiskeys and what the owner calls “the holy grail of Irish beers” (Guinness, Harp, Smithwick’s, and Kilkenny). Owner Anthoni Jodoin recreated the quintessential Irish-pub experience with dim lighting, rustic wood surfaces, a time-weathered appeal, deep greens, loungey leather seating, and anthropomorphic art showing dogs playing pool and poker with cigars and beers. During a brief soft opening customers assumed the place had been here for years—exactly the lived-in feel Jodoin wanted. Named after Brad Pitt’s tough-guy character in Snatch, it occupies the 1,000-square-foot former karaoke bar La P’tite Place, Jodoin has partnered with Simon Malette, plans to add pub grub, hopes for a triumphant St-Patrick’s Day, and is currently closed due to COVID-19 restrictions." - Valerie Silva
