"A Charleston transplant to Greenville, this Italian restaurant at 40 West Broad Street opened just off Main Street on Friday, June 9 and brings the Indigo Road Hospitality concept from its King Street launch in Charleston. I found the menu centers on wood-fired Italian favorites—pizzas, pastas, and plenty of antipasti—and chef Josh Begley emphasizes that their wood-fired pizza (not strictly Neapolitan but slightly different) and fresh, in-house pastas are what make them stand out. The Greenville kitchen places a particular emphasis on whole-hog butchery, sourcing pigs from Providence Farm in Anderson, South Carolina, and using every part of the animal to make mortadella, head cheese, and cured pork belly; the larger kitchen space allows them to bring in and store whole hogs. The large dining room is inviting with blond wood furnishings and splashes of indigo blue, there is chef’s counter seating, and a large outdoor patio suited for big gatherings and drinks when the weather is nice. Indaco is open daily for dinner." - Erin Perkins
