"This Maple Avenue staple has been slinging Tex-Mex eats for more than two decades and, in that time, has earned a devoted legion of fans. The Avila family serves brisket-stuffed chile rellenos, chicken mole, and combination plates like Anita’s Plate (soft taco, cheese enchilada, beef taco) here, as well as many family recipes. The tamales, which come with pork, black bean and cheese, or three cheese and jalapeño, and chicken pozole also win raves. The dining room is relatively restrained, with textured walls and light colored wood furniture, and a bar tucked away in a side room." - Amy McCarthy
