"An ode to Romo’s Italian grandmother, this Summerville restaurant at 101 Main Street opened Wednesday, June 1 and brings Italian cooking inspired by both Northern and Southern Italy. The menu ranges from Neapolitan pizzas to cacio e pepe to veal saltimbocca, and Romo insisted on including his grandmother’s bolognese recipe — a dish he remembers fondly (“If I only ate one bowl, I would be in trouble”) and that reflects the grandmother’s desire to make sure the family was well fed. I found the interiors sophisticated but not stuffy, with black-and-white family photos on the walls, pink-hued vintage glassware on the tables, and a portrait of his grandparents (jokingly called “the world’s first selfie”). Laura opens for dinner service at 4 p.m." - Erin Perkins
