"A theatrically named tavern-style restaurant has opened this month in Boston’s Theater District at 228 Tremont St., taking over the former Intermission Tavern space and operating in a “dress rehearsal” phase ahead of a planned grand opening. The team behind it includes Derek Brady and Theodore Connolly, who are also involved with Union Street Restaurant in Newton Centre. The menu leans toward comfort-food tavern fare—appetizers such as chicken wings, shrimp cocktail, and charcuterie and cheese boards; sandwiches and salads; and heartier items like lobster and corn chowder, steak frites, cheeseburgers, and grilled cheese. The drinks program emphasizes wines and mixed cocktails, including a pomegranate mule with vodka, a “midsummer night’s dram” with whiskey and ginger beer, and a “western” with bourbon and sugar. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner and has televisions for airing sporting events." - Dana Hatic
