"Philz Coffee plans to close its original location in the Mission District later this year when its lease at 3101 24th Street runs out. The building, owned by Humble Lion, LLC, an investment company founded by former Philz Coffee CEO Jacob Jaber, is reportedly in poor condition. Staff have reported issues such as rats, spotty power, a broken fridge, and peeling floors and walls. Maintenance problems were recurrent, especially after health issues led Phil to step back and after Jacob left the company in 2021.
