"This irreverent, playful coffee shop is the colorful creation of owner Abbey Chiavari and her husband Jake, who opened this micro cafe (it clocks in at 300 square feet so don’t plan to camp out here with a laptop) on the south side. The coffee shop occupies the first third of their space within the Alloy apartment complex, with Jake’s coffee technician company, Technico, taking up the rest — hence their nod to Russian nesting dolls with the name Matroyshka. The cafe’s bright, rainbow-hued decor imbues the space with a sense of joy that goes perfectly with the filter coffee, teas, and specialty drinks (like the Confetti Cuban with sweetened condensed milk, espresso, sprinkles, and edible glitter) on the menu. The food menu is simple: instant ramen, cereal with milk, or gluten-free goodies from Morsel." - Ellen Fort
