"I noticed the Charlotte-based restaurant Kid Cashew has expanded to Mount Pleasant, opening last week at 1440 Ben Sawyer Blvd. The original in Dilworth describes itself as a “wood-fire grill inspired by farmers, butchers and the Mediterranean,” and the South Carolina location says it is inspired by the “beauty of Charleston.” The expansive menu ranges from a quinoa-stuffed avocado to Greek-style wings, a lamb gyro and Spanish octopus, and also includes a vegan section and highlights gluten-free items. Kid Cashew in Mount Pleasant is open for dinner seven days a week starting at 5 p.m.; the Charlotte store is open for lunch, so that may be in the plans for the South Carolina location. The Charlotte location currently has four stars on Yelp, with most reviews praising the large selection of menu items, family friendliness and creative cocktails, while negative reviews complain about service and “mediocre” food." - Erin Perkins
