There’s a New Korean Cafe Serving Adorable Desserts on East Burnside - Eater Portland
"Soro Soro Coffee & Dessert, a Korean cafe serving animal-themed pastries, lattes, and desserts, opened June 11 on East Burnside. Most of the pastries at Soro Soro involve lighthearted and goofy design, including colorful rainbow cakes with vertical stripes, Earl Grey chocolate cakes with googly eyes, and cheesecakes adorned with chocolate whiskers and ears. Beyond the drink menu, matcha makes an appearance in a version of tiramisu, which goes awfully well with a matcha latte. Even the cafe’s affogato comes with a dramatic, optional upgrade: topping the drink with a gravity-defying pile of snow, which quickly dissipates when dampened with espresso. The cafe’s drink menu uses Stumptown coffee for a number of intricate drinks, including tiramisu lattes and einspanner, a Viennese coffee drink involving a lot of whipped cream. For non-coffee drinkers, the menu expands into hot chocolates and teas, ranging from banana hot chocolate to pots of cherry blossom tea." - Brooke Jackson-Glidden
