"Opened on September 12 in Back Bay on Boylston Street in the space that housed the Pour House for 34 years, this new queer-focused bar was created by Thais Rochas after she began hosting LGBTQ Night Life events to build safe, femme-centered nightlife. It specifically caters to women who are attracted to other women as well as trans and nonbinary people, making it the city's first venue in over a decade with that focus and one of only a handful of lesbian bars left nationally. The project was funded through community fundraisers tied to nightlife parties and a city SPACES grant, but its launch was delayed by permitting setbacks; still, hundreds lined up for the opening and community members called it long overdue amid a landscape dominated by male-focused gay bars. The opening also sparked controversy when a neighboring pub's Pride-friendly actions were followed by reports of homophobic fake reviews. The bar will be open seven days a week from 5pm–2am, and its name comes from the owner's dog." - Tanya Edwards
