"Opening this weekend inside Market on 8th, the Butcher’s Plate is the second venture from Manny da Luz and Charles Knowles (who launched the seasonally-minded Bica on Adams Avenue last summer and are veterans of Tender Greens). Their menu focuses on rotisserie meats, salads, and sandwiches built around peri-peri or za’atar roasted chicken, housemade porchetta, and a rotating beef option that could range from herb-roasted brisket to prime rib; plates come with herbed fried potatoes and sandwiches are made with housemade pickles on baguettes from Prager Brothers Artisan Breads. They’ll also offer frequently rotating sides using ingredients from area farmers’ markets, plan to cook private dinners out of their stall, will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and are working on sourcing produce directly from farms near National City while shifting the menu toward whole-animal butchery." - Candice Woo
