"Launched online in January 2021 by sisters Danielle and Gabrielle Davenport, this bookstore highlights Black-authored cookbooks from across the diaspora as well as literature with significant food references. It curates both contemporary and older, lesser-known texts—seeking out out-of-print titles and physical copies that distributors may not carry—and emphasizes cultural preservation and nuanced, context-aware curation that the founders feel Black booksellers are especially attuned to.
