"A chic new seafood-and-steak restaurant from Richard Sandoval, self-described as the “father of modern Mexican cuisine,” is slated to open in the Four Seasons Hotel in Downtown Houston in Fall 2021, replacing the hotel’s former third-floor Italian restaurant, Quattro. Called Toro Toro—a play on the Japanese term for tuna (toro) and the Spanish word for bull—the concept promises a playful, modern twist on the classic steakhouse with South and Central American influences and will be the brand’s second Texas location after Fort Worth. Guests can expect churrasco-grilled meats, antojitos and tapas, fresh ceviches and tiraditos, and menu items hinted at by the Fort Worth location such as a massive 52-ounce tomahawk steak, roasted Brussels sprouts with white raisins and cojita cheese, Peruvian-style chicken anticucho, and a burger with bacon jam and chipotle-cranberry cheddar. The restaurant will feature an open kitchen with a wood-burning grill, an extensive Spanish and Latin wine list, hand-muddled cocktails like margaritas and mojitos, and private dining spaces for events; renovations are currently in progress with plans to open later this year." - Brittanie Shey
