"I recount that Raglan Road Irish Pub, an independent restaurant inside Disney Springs, was where Dr. Kanokporn Tangsuan ate on October 5 and—despite repeatedly telling her waiter she had severe nut and dairy allergies—was assured her meal would be allergen-free; less than an hour later she suffered a severe reaction and died at a nearby hospital. Her husband, Jeffrey Piccolo, filed a wrongful-death suit, and Disney initially sought to force arbitration by pointing to terms of its Disney+ subscriber agreement and later ticket-purchase terms, an argument Piccolo called “preposterous.” After public backlash, Disney agreed to waive arbitration and allow the suit to proceed in court. The incident underscores the park’s guidance that guests with multiple allergy requests or medically restrictive diets should contact the Special Diets team (Special.Diets@guest.services.disney) in advance to arrange allergy-friendly accommodations." - Stacey Leasca
