"A Pennsylvania farm whose hen eggs were highly prized for their “best, deepest orange yolks,” the vendor abruptly left the Union Square farmers’ market after new rules required vendors to demonstrate that products are held at or below 45°F, a burden the small operation found impractical. The exit drew long lines on its final market day, but the farm opened a new Upper West Side storefront at 2583 Broadway (just north of West 97th Street) with Wednesday–Saturday hours. The shop will sell pickles (cauliflower, dilly beans, okra, onion), chicken pies and pulled chicken, a variety of sausages and bacons (including smoked, Canadian, and country), fresh meat, cheese, baked goods like zucchini bread and whoopie pies, and seasonal produce." - Chris Crowley
