"The big and crispy chicken and waffles at Shugga Hi are worth the trip to this Dickerson Pike spot alone. But if your craving for maple-soaked fried bird and gridded pastry happens to fall on a Sunday, you’ll be right on time for the Jazz and Eggs Sunday brunch. It’s a 90-minute all-you-can-eat live music affair that feels more like a big family cookout and less like a Kenny G comeback vehicle. The eponymous eggs (scrambled, by the way) are on the menu as are an all-star lineup of Southern and soul food classics like smothered pork chops, cabbage and collards, cornbread, and donut casserole—all of which is included in the $36 price. What isn’t included: drinks from the mimosa bar and Shugga Hi’s chicken and waffles. But it’s criminally wrong to pass up either one. photo credit: Kelli Dirks photo credit: Kelli Dirks photo credit: Kelli Dirks photo credit: Kelli Dirks" - Jackie Gutierrez-Jones
