"Sombreros in Hapeville offers serviceable Tex-Mex with a communal vibe. It’s the kind of spot where you round up friends to watch the game when the sports bar is too packed, bring a family that needs elbow room, or meet coworkers for margaritas and low-stakes gossip. There’s a good-sized patio for stretching out with sizzling, mildly seasoned fajitas, plus a long front bar if you’d rather toast beers. The food won’t blow you away. It’s all firmly average. But the menu is sprawling, so there are fair odds you'll walk away content—and even better odds if you stick to the basics. Order the Mikey taco, a fused soft-and-hard shell stuffed with grilled chicken and dressed in a Thousand Island–style sauce that actually pulls it together.
