Dreamhouse Records - Review - Leyton - London - The Infatuation

"Like a lot of London’s independent record shops that have risen, trendy-phoenix-style, from the ashes of the streaming boom, Dreamhouse Records is a very cool place to be. By day, a legion of proud snazzy little ‘stache folk pop by to get a flat white and thumb through the new releases, but come Thursday evening it shifts shape into a buzzing drinking den. Stop by this corner of Leyton’s pedestrianised Francis Road on a sunny Friday night and you’ll see friends celebrating their spontaneous decision to salute the start of the weekend with a bottle of chilled red, parents perched on the outdoor bench seating with one eye on their kids and the other on their pint of Libertalia ale, and couples flagging down their Yard Sale Pizza order before ordering a third rose Negroni. It’s the unofficial street party that every committed Julian Casablancas lookalike deserves. We like the hip hustle and bustle of the pavement set-up best, but it’s also worth perching inside to sip natural wine while listening to the predictably fantastic soundtrack." - Heidi Lauth Beasley
