"Anyone looking for a sugary pit stop should swing by Fujiya. The McCully sweets counter specializes in freshly pounded mochi, from plump daifuku to just-sweet-enough chichi dango. Everything coming out of the confectionery is soft enough that it practically melts in your hands, and makes for the ideal pre-beach snack—though realistically, you won’t get past the parking lot without taking a bite. The shop also has other excellent (much crispier) grab-and-go snacks, like senbei and arare. photo credit: Laura La Monaca" - Julia Chen
