Kamp - Review - Galleria - Houston - The Infatuation

"We go to Kamp for two reasons: to dance the night away while dodging bartenders with flaming bottles of Don Julio 1942, and to stuff our faces with spicy boudin balls filled with pepper jack cheese. This Cajun-Creole clubstaurant in the Galleria neighborhood has all of the fun of an adult summer camp, if that summer camp included seafood boils on a sprawling patio, apple pie flavored shots, or a plate of oxtails that you enjoy through a cloud of blueberry hookah smoke. Come here at night to cut a rug while dodging flaming bottles of Don Julio 1942, or stop in for brunch complete with a DJ and giant mimosas made with five bottles of champagne. photo credit: Kamp photo credit: Kamp photo credit: Kamp photo credit: Kamp photo credit: Kamp Food Rundown photo credit: Gianni Greene Biscuits & Gravy A truly classic Southern breakfast, the biscuits come smothered ‘n covered in a decadent gravy and are a must-have brunch dish at Kamp. photo credit: Gianni Greene Smoked Oxtails and Grits Aside from the fact that the oxtails are practically falling off the bone, you should order because the smokiness is perfectly balanced with the buttery grits, which also catch all of the gravy runoff. photo credit: Kamp Hot Chocolate Waffle This golden waffle is doused in chocolate syrup and topped with a fluffy marshmallow. It’s sweet, it’s fun, it’s ridiculous, this is a must-order at Kamp during brunch." - Gianni Greene
