"Tony’s is doing classic thin-crust pizza really, really well. Pepperoni, mushrooms, Italian sausage—these are the slices you actually want, baked to crisp-edged perfection with just the right chew. The neighborhood shop’s facade is softened by climbing plants, and the bright red door leads you straight to these no-nonsense pies that you can eat in large, unapologetic bites. But that’s not to say they don’t dabble in the unconventional, and their weekly specials fill in that gap nicely. We’ve seen spicy beef bulgogi, mac and cheese, even quesabirria—drizzle your pick with hot honey and call it a day. All for under $5, just as nature intended." - Chandra Joshua
