Tanuki Sushi - Review - Vila Madalena - São Paulo - The Infatuation
"In São Paulo, eating cross-legged on a tatami mat is as normal as drinking beer on a plastic table on the street. Tanuki, in Vila Madalena, is a particularly lovely old-school Japanese spot. This unfussy, wood-paneled restaurant offers carefully prepared sushi at reasonable prices, with a huge range of fish and rolls to choose from. The set menus are an economical way to get a bit of everything, but be sure to get the scallop if its available. A couple of cooked dishes are great for rounding out the meal, especially the sukiyaki, a rich vegetable and meat stew that cooks, bubbling, on the table." - Tomé Morrissy-Swan
