En Root Peckham

"En Root is a mood-improver of a restaurant. The Peckham spot serves rainbow plates of Indian vegan food, only surpassed in brightness by the yellow walls, colourful, mismatched bench seats, and patterned fabric tablecloths. Friendly staff stop by for a chat and to suggest dishes—we agree, the tandoori 'wings' are a highlight. Some of the food can be a little bland, like the underwhelming jerk dosa and chana dahl which needed a douse of their raja bonnet sauce to liven it up. But it's a good spot to know about in the area for leisurely meet-ups, sponsored by moreish samosa chaat and cardamom-heavy mango lassis. photo credit: En Root photo credit: En Root" - Sinéad Cranna
