"Taking over the former Rockpool space in Beverly Hills, Sushi K picks up right where its oddly named predecessor left off—serving a bargain-priced omakase in an area better known for sushi that costs as much as a car payment. There’s a set for $43 that includes eight pieces of nigiri and a handroll, and another with sashimi, ten nigiri, and a handroll for $78. Most of the fish arrive pre-brushed with soy and are sliced quite thinly, but the quality is respectable, including buttery salmon from Scotland, glossy yellowtail from Japan, and rich, dry-aged tuna. Sit at the bar, where chefs hand you pieces as they make small talk, and suddenly a sushi dinner in Beverly Hills will start to feel like a reasonable weeknight move." - Cathy Park
