"This casual Viet spot in Rosemead is the noodle soup conveyor belt of our dreams. You sit at Pho Filet 2’s long communal tables, flanked by families on both ends, and get presented LA’s richest, most aromatic phở in less than ten minutes. The beef broth is dark and opaque like a cup of double-steeped PG Tips, and its green onions and star anise season the ribbons of brisket and jelly-like tendon in your bowl. Pho Filet 2’s non-soup dishes are also worth exploring with a group, including the football-sized bánh xèo, so don’t let the weekend crowds deter you from bringing extra stomachs. The waitlist moves quickly, but Pho Filet’s original (albeit smaller) location is just two miles away if you don’t care to wait." - cathy park, sylvio martins, brant cox, andrew ryce
