"Sometimes, nothing but a classic steakhouse will do. The type of place where you can practically smell the perfectly seared protein and whiskey highballs wafting up from the tufted leather booths. Bob’s Steak and Chophouse is that place. You’ll find it in the Omni downtown, right next to the Country Music Hall of Fame. And while the proximity to mass mobs of tourists might deter you from venturing out to Bob’s, that would be a mistake. Every meal here starts with a free loaf of warm, pillowy bread and a plate of half-sour pickles. While decidedly not gratis, the 22-ounce cote de boeuf bone-in ribeye is absurdly tender and flavorful, as is the dry-aged pork tomahawk. For dessert, order the bread pudding. It’s topped with a Grand Marnier-spiked caramel sauce and is one of the best around town." - Jackie Gutierrez-Jones
