Triumph Valley is a Shoreline go-to for Chinese food - Review - Seattle - The Infatuation

"Renton’s popular dim sum darling has a second location in Shoreline, and it has a massive dining room of tasty Chinese food. Rice rolls stir-fried in XO sauce have char that a young Blackstone only dreams of replicating. Sweet-and-sour chicken is a hot, crispy highlight. And we truly can’t stop eating the Szechuan fish swimming in peppercorn-steeped broth. Weekend dim sum is also pretty good. Waits tend to ring in under an hour, and everything flies out of the kitchen fast and hot, be it shatteringly flaky egg tarts or corn and pork-stuffed potstickers. (We’ll forgive a bit of extra grease in that case.) No need to drive from Renton to Shoreline just to experience this one, but if you’re in the area already, treat Triumph Valley like your Chinese go-to. Food Rundown Egg Tarts While we commend the crust for being among the flakiest we've come across, the eggy middle could be more custardy-sweet. Not bad, though. photo credit: Aimee Rizzo Pan-Fried Pork & Corn Postickers The crackly exterior will leave a film of oil on your lips, but the corn-studded pork filling is really good. photo credit: Aimee Rizzo Beef Rice Rolls These beef-stuffed rice rolls taste like nothing but chewy air. Next. Szechuan Fish In Spicy Broth Beware of the broth’s potent heat, but the bits of fish bobbing around are moist, delicious, and don’t absorb too much spice. It’s an excellent rendition. photo credit: Aimee Rizzo Pineapple Sweet & Sour Chicken Sweet and sour chicken fans, rejoice. Crispy batter, sticky sauce, and caramelized cubes of pineapple make this a hit. photo credit: Aimee Rizzo Stir-Fried Rice Roll With XO Sauce We’re super impressed with the sear on the rolls, and it’s doused in homemade chili oil. A great side for the table. photo credit: Aimee Rizzo Stir-Fried Lobster With Ginger & Scallion With bland, tough lobster chunks, dry noodles, and colossal asteroids of ginger, this market-priced monster is a huge waste of time and money. Skip to save at least $100—and an innocent lobster’s life. photo credit: Aimee Rizzo" - Aimee Rizzo
