"Nearly all breweries are industrial chic with open floor plans, but only one has a giant mural of a stoned chihuahua. Fittingly, it’s named Tripping Animals and it happens to be our favorite brewery in Miami right now. The Doral warehouse fills up on weekdays around 4pm—the start of Happy Hour—and is an exciting place to be even on Mondays, when they give everyone paint and canvases and let you relive your elementary school days (except with beer). You’re here for the enormous selection of beer, but you should also come for the food. Trippy Kitchen, as they call it, has a menu that feels like it was designed by a pregnant woman with spontaneous cravings. There’s ribeye with curly fries, ceviche, a Venezuelan hot dog, and a charcuterie board. It’s exactly where you want to be after a tough (or relatively easy) day at work. Green Olives These pungent, panko-breaded olives are stuffed with goat cheese and give fried pickles a run for their money in the salty drinking snack category. photo credit: Tripping Animals Brewing Co. Ribeye Steak The answer is yes, cajun-seasoned curly fries are the perfect side to a magnificent slab of grilled steak that’s sprinkled with a little sea salt. photo credit: Tripping Animals Brewing Co. Bacon Cheeseburger & French Fries This is a refreshingly standard burger. The patty isn’t too thick or thin, and while ours was a bit overcooked, the sweet, tangy sauce was just what the beef doctor ordered to revitalize the patty. photo credit: Tripping Animals Brewing Co. Corn & Bacon Tostada As you can see, this “tostada” isn’t a tostada at all. But we’re not complaining. Creamy corn is plopped on a crispy baguette and topped with grated parmesan and bacon bits. Pair this with a No Mames lager, and your Tuesday suddenly feels like a Thursday. photo credit: Tripping Animals Brewing Co. Corvina Ceviche & Ají Leche De Tigre It’s a solid citrusy ceviche. Just make sure you mix up the juices from the bottom or you might get a few bites of plain-tasting fish. photo credit: Tripping Animals Brewing Co. Raspadito This is the shaved ice equivalent of an avant-garde theater performance that simultaneously shocks, excites, and moves you in ways you didn’t think possible. Icy passion fruit, condensed milk, and Pop Rocks come together for a spoonful that’s more stimulating than accidentally blazing over a speedbump." - Mariana Trabanino
