"Located on the northern section of the city's popular Main Street, Old German Bakery & Restaurant is where many Fredericksburg tourists go to pick up fresh pastries or grab breakfast. Despite the name, their menus focus heavily on common American dishes like omelettes, pork chops, chicken-fried steak, and burgers. And while the restaurant does offer German dishes with schnitzel, bratwurst, and red cabbage, the menu’s discord makes it seem more interested in appeasing tourists than sharing German cuisine. As for the bakery, the danishes are delicious—but stay away from the overly sweet meringue cookies.
