"Among Lake Como’s many crotti (restaurants built inside caves), Crotto del Sergente is the most romantic. The light is dim, the pastas and desserts are large and shareable, and the dishes are well-thought-out, including the slow-cooked meats that are what this place does best. Among them is a pork belly drenched in horseradish and apple sauce with glazed onion that's so rich you’ll taste it hours after you leave this place—take it down with a glass from their cellar of over 250 bottles.
