1911 Biscuits & Burgers - Review - Smyrna - Atlanta - The Infatuation

"A visit to 1911 Biscuits & Burgers feels like time has slowed down. Old-timey plaid curtains frame the windows and sunlight warms the small Smyrna dining room. And styrofoam containers hit the tables as people sip coffee and chat across booths. It  reminds us of a fellowship meal inside an old church basement—if that church also had a drive-thru. But whether you're rolling through for a quick lunch or settling in with the neighborhood folks for breakfast, you’re here for their Southern comfort food. It’s the kind that tastes like someone actually cared when they made it (staff might even mosey over from behind the counter to make sure “everything is good.”) The biscuits are soft and buttery enough to skip the honey. Herby cubed potatoes are delicious on their own, but their signature garlicky sauce makes these "home taters" hard to stop eating. The fried chicken comes coated in crunchy, properly spiced breading. And the portions are pretty big, so by the time you get to your last bite, you might feel yourself slowing down just a little, too. photo credit: Sarah Newman photo credit: Sarah Newman photo credit: Sarah Newman photo credit: Sarah Newman Pause Unmute Food Rundown Fried Chicken You can get this chicken as part of a platter or in a fried chicken biscuit. No matter which way you choose, the breading will be thick and seasoned, and the meat is juicy. This is solid fried chicken. Lemon Pepper Wings The wings are plump and crispy. Just know that this seasoning mix leans very heavily on the pepper, so they’re pretty spicy. It's a solid order for wing lovers. Biscuits These biscuits are softball sized, bouncy, buttery, and perfectly flaky. They are way better than the biscuits across the street at that popular fast food chicken chain. photo credit: Sarah Newman Home Taters The potatoes are cubed and doused with herby spices. They’re good enough to eat without the creamy sauce, which reminds us of a mix between remoulade and blue cheese dressing. But the sauce is excellent too, which is why they sell this by the pint. photo credit: Sarah Newman Burger ¼ Lb The seasoning is heavy on this patty, which we like. It comes with mustard, ketchup, pickles, tomatoes, onion, lettuce, and soft buttery bread. It’s a good burger—it’s especially worth the order when you’re in a drive-thru mood." - Jacinta Howard
