"An artisanal bakery revolution has swept through Manchester in recent years, and this tiny, grab-and-go Ancoats spot is now leading the charge. The first test of a bakery’s viennoiserie is its croissant, and Companio nails them: they’re crunchy and flaky outside, with a soft, buttery interior. The bakery also excels at more adventurous creations, like a shining danish filled with luscious, roasted milk crème pâtissière and pert, poached Yorkshire rhubarb, or a fragrant poppy seed cake with a puddle of lime leaf-infused extra-virgin olive oil.
