Commons at Old Street Works

Coffee shop · Hoxton

"Commons is a very lovely place to drink good coffee, take calls, and generally be anywhere other than your own home with your overflowing laundry basket. From 9am, people arrive in numbers and you can’t blame them. Not when the walls of this Old Street coffee shop are the sort of clay pink that subconsciously plonks you back in the womb. You might be holding a double shot espresso and resolutely sitting on mute in a Zoom call, but the warm, calming illusion is strong. This is surely one of London’s most aspirational morning locations. There isn’t much we don’t want to try and cram in our bag: the dainty, raspberry and cream-topped canelé, the glam flower arrangement, the chic, burnt orange mugs. Swing by when you need an office upgrade for a few hours, a well-made matcha—not too grassy, not too sweet—or for a catch-up where aesthetics count. photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch" - Sinéad Cranna
